Natura, founded in São Paulo in 1969, is Brazil's biggest beauty company, and Ekos is the line it launched in 2000 around ingredients from the Amazon, bought from the forest communities that harvest them. Pitanga is the small red Brazilian cherry whose leaves and fruit give one of the freshest scents in the Ekos line. This gel wash is the one for hot days and morning showers: a gel texture, plenty of lather, a formula that keeps the skin's pH, and a scent that is more citrus-green than sweet. Natura says the Pitanga line is grown through its own planting programme with family farmers.
