Natura, founded in São Paulo in 1969, is Brazil's biggest beauty company, and Ekos is the line it launched in 2000 around ingredients from the Amazon, bought from the forest communities that harvest them. Maracujá, the passion fruit, is one of the line's original ingredients, and its seed oil is rich in essential fatty acids; Natura says the Maracujá line supports the income of 876 families. This oil comes in three layers that you shake together before use: it spreads easily over damp or dry skin, leaves a fine protective film, and can be rinsed off in the shower or left on. In a consumer test, participants reported more hydrated, calmer-feeling skin.
