About this product
Copaíba Hydra Face Cream
Hydration for skin that shines, made in the Amazon: cupuaçu butter and copaíba oil-resin give oily, combination and sensitive skin the moisture it needs with a soft-matte finish, no mineral oil, silicone or paraffin, and a texture that sits beautifully under make-up. 98.4% natural origin.
Amakos da Amazônia is a young skincare brand from the heart of the Brazilian Amazon, founded in 2021 by a family team: a wellness researcher and a technologist, two generations working together. Its formulas are built on Amazonian ingredients such as copaíba, açaí, tucumã, pracaxi and dragon's blood, sourced from forest communities (the copaíba comes from the Uatumã sustainable-development reserve, in Amazonas), and the formulas have a natural-origin content of 95% to 100% per product under the ISO 16128 standard. The whole line is certified vegan and cruelty-free by PETA. Copaíba Hydra is the brand's core line, and this is its moisturiser. The idea is simple: oily skin gets dehydrated too, and needs a cream that hydrates without clogging or shining. Cupuaçu butter (from the Amazonian cousin of cacao, known for how much water it can hold) does the hydrating, copaíba oil-resin brings the soothing, balancing feel the line is named for, rosehip and jojoba add softness, and red-algae extracts leave a light protective film. The finish is soft-matte.
There is no mineral oil, silicone or paraffin in the formula, and it is for sensitive and reactive skin as much as for oily and combination types.
Why you'll love it
- Hydrates without shine or heaviness
- A soft-matte finish that sits well under make-up
- Comfort for sensitive, reactive skin
- Made for oily, combination and acne-prone skin
Key ingredients
- Cupuaçu seed butter (Theobroma grandiflorum) – a rich Amazonian butter with a high water-holding capacity, for hydration that lasts without greasiness.
- Copaíba oil-resin (Copaifera) – tapped from the trunk of the copaíba tree by communities of the Uatumã reserve, in Amazonas; the brand's signature ingredient, rich in beta-caryophyllene, used for its soothing, balancing feel on the skin.
- Rosehip oil and jojoba oil – light plant oils for softness and suppleness.
- Red algae extracts (Kappaphycus alvarezii and Eucheuma spinosum) – sea-algae extracts used for hydration and a protective, comfortable film on the skin.
- Orange, lavandin, palmarosa and frankincense essential oils – the natural scent of the Copaíba Hydra line.
How to use
- Morning and evening, on clean skin, apply a small amount to the face and neck.
- Spread with upward movements until absorbed. In the morning, finish with sunscreen; make-up goes on well over it.
More ways to use it:
- After the Copaíba serum: the order is serum, then cream.
- Very dry patches: a second thin layer at night.
Who it's for
For oily, combination, sensitive or acne-prone skin that still gets dehydrated, and for anyone who wants a light day cream that keeps shine away and make-up in place.

Frequently asked questions
Which serum goes under it?
The Copaíba Hydra serum for oily or blemish-prone skin, or Dragon's Blood for firmness: serum first, cream on top.
Is it a good base for make-up?
Yes. Let it absorb for a minute: the soft-matte finish keeps shine down and make-up sits evenly over it.
What if my skin is on the dry side?
Layer it over the Copaíba Hydra serum, or add a second thin layer at night on the drier areas.
